There is an organization in the phillipines where in the back of the main hall as people enter they pass a large 55 gallon drum of rice. The rule is "Those who have extra should add rice to the drum. Those who are hungry should take what they need." In so doing the community helps one another in what amounts to an "honor system". The drum stays full becuase the citizens of the community know that when the level drops there are people who need their help.
Big Boys take care of themselves. As much as possible Big Boys provide for their own food and that of their families by working to earn what is needed to do so. However there are times when on our ladder of progression we are in a situation where in spite of all we can do we need to rely on others to help. As Big Boys progress they become tax paying citizens of the community and pay their fair share. Every tax paying citizen does so. When a person's situation is such that they need to draw on those resources that together we have created and made available they should not feel ashamed to do so. Big Boys however work and have a goal to be contributors to the community rice bowl. (Available community resources are listed on other pages on this site.)
